HISTORY
Born out of the recognition that graduate and doctoral creative research required a different model, TT was founded in 2004 by two transdisciplinary creative researchers in Los Angeles. In the summer of 2005, it began as a low-residency Master of Fine Arts program accredited in Austria with an international body of 25 students and eight faculty.
Through our mobile platform, between all institutions and countries, we amplify cross-pollination internationally between institutions, students, faculty, and guests through our academic programs, publications, events and collaborations. We have done so under the TT - Transdisciplinary Trajectories umbrella * through three iterations of TT graduate and doctoral-level research courses.
The UK-based Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education accredits our current PhD in Creative Research through our partnership with Liverpool John Moore University.
TT is an independent academic institution that has partnered with universities in the EU and UK for collaboration and degree accreditations since 2004. We are now in the process of becoming an independently accredited institution, full circle, back in California.

* Transdisciplinary Trajectories refer to paths of engagement in creative transdisciplinary research, navigating new directions and methods of working together, including diverse perspectives, and openly evolving to realize new questions and complex goals. Transdisciplinary trajectories lead to deeper engagement, nuanced understandings to meet societal and environmental challenges and essential contributions to knowledge across all disciplines. The TT logo represents both a bridge between all fields and a gate, threshold, transition point or open passage marking a shift in location, actions, or circumstances. Both are liminal zones and spaces of potential for change.
